Please find enclosed Island Park brochure and Lesson
schedule.
We had meant to open mid
November but nitpicking permitting problems (what else) delayed us a bit.
Probably just as well, wouldn’t want to rush into anything as important as a
new bridge club, would we? Hey the place is beautiful, tropical decor, wildlife
pictures, soft colors, and coordinated furnishings…wait till you see! Florida
bridge at its best. We aim to spoil.
Some things you need to know.
·
We won’t hang scores on the wall, except for penultimate scores. Going hi-tech
instead. On the counter at the director’s office a monitor and mouse will allow
you to find your results, do-it-yourself style. The monitor will be locked onto
islandparkbridge.com website so you can easily (and we mean easily) access your
target game. Just click on calendar date for your results or if you wish click
on other areas of the site for more club info. If you prefer a results hard
copy, simply click the printer icon at menu bar.
·
Note night games start at 6:30, a bit early,
but experience has shown most players want to play a full set of boards and get home early.
·
No Swiss teams on Sunday this first year. Look for Swiss next fall.
·
No Sectional Tournament this first year. The ACBL requires long lead times for scheduling.
Look for sectionals in 2008.
·
Stratification using
the popular colored-payment-envelopes-on- table method. Red = 1500+; Yellow
500-1499; White under 500.
·
Parking: Our
Lease stipulates that Bridge Club parking start
at a point three rows in, or nearly halfway between the Club and Suntrust
Bank. Please respect this lease condition; it will be strictly enforced.
·
Future Mailings: We plan to correspond by email
only, it being very cost effective. Lacking email, you can find flyers at the
club, call the club for information, check the newspaper for ads, or better yet
get yourself a computer!
Happy Bridging and Happy
Holidays to you all.
